BOURNE ARCHITECTURE is a small Fremantle-based architectural practice established by Sion Bourne in 2021. We partner with individuals, families and companies across several project types including bespoke houses, extensions and small commercial work.

Our process places emphasis upon conversation with our clients to uncover inapparent aspirations or concerns specific to a project. We are interested in architecture that understands its social, physical and economic context whilst concurrently achieving its own needs.

Projects are refined & resolved through methods appropriate to their individual circumstances. We regularly hand sketch, create collages, prepare digital drawings & craft physical card models to communicate ideas and further our own understanding.

SION BOURNE graduated from Curtin University with a Master of Architecture in 2015 and worked for several design-led Perth practices prior to establishing his own firm in 2021. He is registered with the Architects Board of Western Australia and is an A+ member of the Australian Institute of Architects.

In parallel to professional practice Sion holds a casual undergraduate teaching position at the University of Western Australia’s School of Design.
